About Covenant Fellowship

We at Covenant Fellowship are a Bible-believing, Jesus loving, family friendly church. Doctrinally we would consider ourselves Anabaptists, our roots tracing back to the Radical Reformation of the early 1500’s. Under the Anabaptist umbrella, we would further identify with the more commonly used term “Mennonite.”

When we use the term “Anabaptist,” we are not saying “anti-baptist.” “Anabaptist,” was actually a derogatory name meaning “re-baptizers,” which was given to this group of believers who rejected infant baptism in favor of believer’s baptism. (see link to Anabaptist history page)

We are currently holding our services at the Sharon United Methodist Church in the Naruna, VA community, where we have a unique relationship with the Sharon membership. They are allowing us to share their church building; they have an early service and are just leaving when we arrive at 10:30 to begin ours. We are deeply grateful for their generosity! (the actual address is 401 Whipping Creek Rd, Gladys, VA. 24554)

Our services are a mix of singing, prayer time, Sunday School and preaching, with a variation from Sunday to Sunday. As a general rule, we have a potluck fellowship meal on the first Sunday of each month.

We are not a perfect people by any means, but we meet together at Jesus’ feet, worshiping and imploring Him to continue the sanctification process in our lives. We are in the habit of freely sharing our joys, cares and sorrows with each other; we feel there is strength to be realized from our common bond and purpose.

We very much welcome visitors!

by Merle Yoder on March 3rd, 2024
Paul begins this chapter talking about prayer. How would you describe your prayer life as of late? Have we “devoted ourselves to prayer” as mentioned in Col. 4:2? Merle confessed that his prayer life lately could be described in three words, namely, “in the cracks.” And do we…
